Letter: States could take action instead of feds

If one state, then two states and then another legalize marijuana, why can’t one state, then two states and another ban assault rifles, gun stocks and weapons of mass destruction and make obtaining licenses more comprehensive?

Since no one expects the immobile federal government to do anything,  why can’t we, state by state, enact our own gun laws?
