Word of Life hosts Youth Conference
At Word of Life Family Worship Center, 726 E. Liberty St., the 2019 Youth Conference is being held Friday-Sunday, July 26-28. The theme is “Face the Book; Trust God and Love Your Selfie.”
Activities begin Friday at 7 p.m. with a panel discussion to include Child Abduction, Social Media, and Youth and Sex. Participants include representatives from the Pregnancy Support Center, Salisbury Police Department, Prevent Child Abuse Rowan, and Word of Life FWC.
Saturday: the youth and teen have outings scheduled away from the ministry.
The Sunday service begins at 10 a.m. led by the youth and young adult praise team. Music will be provided by the Youth Conference Choir.
The children’s church graduation ceremony will be held, honoring graduates Anaya Gaiter, Kadence Vuyou and Asha Wilson. Dana Deverlie is director and Deacon John and Elder Virginia Brown are teen leaders.
Sunday’s guest speaker is Elder Derrick R. McQueen of Freedom Temple Ministries in Rock Hill, S.C. He has served as the community development coordinator for the S.C. Primary Health Care Association and liaison to the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
Other youth and youth groups are invited to attend and participate. Dr. Martha and Elder Clinton Starks are host pastors. For additional information call 704-633-2431.

 

Grace UMC bookbag giveaway
Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, Grace United Methodist Church, 846 Faith Road, will give a ‘stocked’ bookbag to the first 50 elementary students that stop by the church.

 

Fairview Heights Outreach Ministry
The Outreach Ministry of Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, will be at Brightmoor Nursing Center, 610 W. Fisher St., at 11 a.m. Saturday. Speaker: Minister Patricia Cato.

 

Christmas in July at Bethel Lutheran
Bethel Lutheran Church, 355 E. Ridge Road, will celebrate Christmas in July on Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service.
Christmas Carols will be sung instead of the usual summer hymns. The scripture readings will tell the Christmas story. This July tradition is celebrated to enjoy the true meaning of Christ’s birth.

 

First Calvary Baptist celebrates 153 years
On Sunday, First Calvary Baptist Church, 400 S. Long St., will celebrate its 153rd annual homecoming on the theme of “Continuing Our Worship By Example, Service and Love.”
The 11 a.m. speaker is First Calvary’s pastor Dr. Leamon E. Brown, recently celebrating 35 years of service.
The 3 p.m. guest speak is Pastor Robert N. Kelley Jr. of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church, and member of the North Carolina Conference of the AME Zion Church.

 

The Parables of Christ in concert
CHINA GROVE — Local singing group The Parables of Christ will provide a special song service Sunday morning at 11 a.m. at Southside Church of God, 163 Third Ave. Host pastor is Gloria Ross.

 

Homecoming and revival at Southern City
EAST SPENCER — Southern City Tabernacle AME Zion Church, 940 S Long St., holds Homecoming and Revival starting Sunday at 11 a.m. and continuing July 31-Aug. 2 at 7 p.m.
Homecoming speaker will be Rev. Dr. Debra Hall, pastor of New Hope AME Zion Church of Spencer.
Revival speakers are:
Wednesday, Rev. Robert Kelley of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church;
Thursday, Rev. Marcus Fairley of St. Luke Baptist Church;
Friday, Rev. David Scott Cunningham of China Grove AME Zion Church, Charlotte.
Lunch will be served after the morning worship service. Rev. Patrick Tate is host pastor.

 

Homecoming and revival at Fairview Heights
Homecoming and revival services will be held at Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, starting Sunday at 11 a.m. Dinner will be served at 1:30 in the fellowship hall.
The 3 p.m. service features guest speaker Rev. Nilous Avery, of Salisbury’s Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Revival services will take place Monday-Friday, July 29-Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. nightly. The speaker for the week will be Rev. Timothy Lyons, pastor of Kings Mountain View Progressive Primitive Baptist Church, in Westfield. Host pastor is Rev. Clarence E. Marlin.

 

Anniversary at Boxwood Missionary Baptist
MOCKSVILLE — Boxwood Missionary Baptist Church celebrates its 11th Pastor’s Aid Ministry anniversary on Sunday at 3 p.m. Dinner is served at 1:30 p.m.
Guest speaker will be associate pastor Margaret Anderson of the Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church.

 

Missionary Ministry anniversary
LEXINGTON — The Missionary Ministry Anniversary will be celebrated at Buncombe Baptist Church, 539 Hairston Road, on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Rev. Dayhige M. Wright, pastor of Living Water Baptist Church, High Point.
Rev. Gregory Headin is the interim pastor.

 

Dynamic District service at God Will Be Done Ministry
God Will Be Done Ministry, 1401 Bringle Ferry Road, hosts a special service on Sunday at 4 p.m. featuring guest speaker Pastor Allen Smith. Dinner will be served at 3 p.m.
Host pastor is P.R. Melton.
