Rowan weather: Cooler, good chance of rain

While it’s still warm and muggy, we won’t get out of the 70s today, thanks to clouds, showers and thunderstorms.

The high will be 76, with south wind at 5-9 mph shifting to the north in the afternoon. The chance of showers and scattered thunderstorms will be 90 percent. A half to three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.

Some storms this afternoon could become severe, with damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Patchy fog is possible after 2 p.m.

Tonight will have a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 10 p.m. It will be cloudy, with gradual clearing, and a low of 62. Calm wind will become north northwest around 5 mph after midnight. A tenth to a quarter inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 81. Winds will be north northeast around 6-8 mph. It will be a mostly clear night, with a low around 62 and light northeast wind.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and 83, with east northeast wind at 3-7 mph. The low will be 63, with partly cloudy skies.

Friday will be mostly sunny and 84, with a low of 64.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and 85. Saturday night will be partly cloudy and 65.
