Eat like a queen at Morgan Ridge Vineyards for Queen’s Feast
Morgan Ridge Vineyard & Brewhouse is again part of Charlotte’s Queen’s Feast, the only restaurant in Rowan County that is participating. Queen’s Feast offers a three or four-course meal for a fixed price at restaurants around the Charlotte area. The event is typically held in January and July.
For $35, guests will be able to enjoy a four-course meal with wine pairings for each course.
The meals began last Friday and continue through July 27.
For the first course, chef Jason Nain will serve a brie cheese and spiced black walnut quesadilla topped with Asian pear and kiwi salsa. It will be paired with a 2015 barrel aged chardonnay.
The second course will be a pickled shrimp, fennel and watermelon rind salad, paired with the 2016 seyval blanc.
Before the third course is served, guests will have MRV sorbet, a chilled watermelon and chambourcin soup shooter topped with mint cream.
The third course is Wagyu beef sliders with a a peppadew pepper sauce, topped with crispy arugula and fried quail egg alongside pommes frits with white truffle pimiento cheese aioli. That will be paired with the 2012 sangiovese.
For dessert, Nain will serve a lemon, blueberry and mascarpone cake paired with a tasting of Sweet Side, a blend of sangiovese, chambourcin and blueberry.
