Legion baseball: Randolph wins series, hosts Davidson on Sunday

THOMASVILLE — Randolph County’s American Legion baseball team won 8-6 against High Point on Friday afternoon to take their Area III semifinal series three games to one.
Spencer Lanier’s two-run single in the top of the eighth was the game-deciding blow.
Austin Curry had three hits for Randolph Post 45 (29-7), while Harris Jackson scored three runs.
Randolph County will host Davidson County Post 8’s Warhawgs at McCrary Park at 7 p.m. on Sunday in a one-game playoff for the Area III championship.
Both teams have qualified for the state tournament and will represent Area III when that event starts on Friday in Cherryville.
