Carter 50th Anniversary

Jimmy Carter and Marsha Carter of China Grove celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 14, 2019. The couple celebrated with a trip to Charleston, S.C., where they honeymooned. They also enjoyed a dinner cruise at Patriot Point in South Carolina.

The Carters were united in marriage June 14, 1969, at First Baptist Church in China Grove, by the Rev. John Carter and the Rev. R.O. Brinkley. Jimmy retired from Mooresville Ford after 20 years of service. Marsha is the organist at First Baptist Church in China Grove and a private piano teacher.
The couple have three children, Jeremy Carter and wife Jennifer of Rockwell, Hayden Carter of Harrisburg and Caroline Sloan and husband Brad of Gastonia. They also have seven grandchildren, Kate and Andrew Carter; Coleman, Grace and Rachel Carter; and Owen and Carson Sloan.
