We spent this Fourth of July in the mountains to beat the heat. We drove into Salisbury the evening of July 5th, and I counted eight flags from Godbey Road and down Woodleaf Road to town, a 10 minute drive.

By comparison, there were at most eight houses without flags on our 30-minute drive from the Roan Valley through Bakersville to Spruce Pine
