Blotter: Salisbury police searching for suspect in armed robbery

SALISBURY — The Salisbury Police Department is looking for a suspect of an armed robbery reported early Saturday morning.

Police say that in the 400 block of Heilig Avenue, a man approached another man who was putting laundry in his car to go to the laundromat. The robber demanded the man’s wallet, which contained cash, his Social Security card and his driver’s license.

The suspect is described as a black man with shoulder length dreadlocks wearing a light-colored T-shirt and dark pants. He ran on Jordan Street off toward Lincolnton Road, according to a police report.

In other Salisbury Police Department reports:

• Spotlight Dance Co., 120 N. Church St,. reported that someone threw a brick through its back window.

• Jonathan Kamel Roberts, 25 of Salisbury, was charged with assault on a female and domestic violence Friday night in the 1500 block of North Ellis Street. Mandy Catura Roberts, 35, of Salisbury, was charged with domestic simple assault and resisting an officer. They are both being held at the Rowan County Detention Center under no bond.

• Donmetries Antoine White, 41, of Salisbury, was charged Friday night with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. White was held at the Rowan County Detention Center under a $2,500 secured bond.
