Rowan weather: Sticky and cloudy

Today and Thursday, we can expect more rain and thunderstorms, with a higher chance of severe weather on Thursday.

Today will be mostly cloudy and 84, with a 30% chance of showers and storms, mainly after 3 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch is expected. Winds will be southwest at 3-8 mph.

Tonight will have a 40% chance of showers and storms, mainly before 10 p.m. It will be partly cloudy and 70, with southwest wind at 3-5 mph. Rain will be heavier in thunderstorms, but less than a tenth of an inch is expected.

Thursday will be partly sunny and 86, with a 50% chance of showers and storms. Southwest wind will be 6-13 mph, gusting up to 20 mph. Some of these storms could reach severe levels, with hail, gusty winds and heavy rain.

Thursday night’s chance of rain is 30%, with showers and storms before 11 p.m., then showers. It will be partly cloudy and 67, with west southwest wind at 7-11 mph.

Friday, the first day of summer, will be sunny and 86, with west northwest wind at 5-9 mph. Friday night will be mostly clear and 66.

Then we begin a typical summer pattern, with a chance of showers and storms every day.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and 88, with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m.  The low will be 69, with partly cloudy skies and that same 30% chance of showers and storms, mostly before 7 p.m.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 90, with a 30% chance of showers and storms after 11 a.m. Sunday night will be partly cloudy and 68.

Monday will be mostly sunny and 90, with a 30% chance of storms and showers. The low will be 69, with mostly cloudy skies.

Tuesday will also have a 30% chance of showers and storms. It will be partly sunny and 88.
