SALISBURY — Several Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detention center officers will be presented with certifications from the North Carolina Sheriffs Education and Standards Commission.

The commission is part of the North Carolina Department of Justice. The certification means that the officers have received a certain number of training points and have the required education to perform their duties.

Certificates will be presented today at Wake Technical Community College’s Public Safety Education Center in Raleigh.

The following officers received certifications:

• Jeffrey Scott Duffel and Patricia Diane Tillery will receive the Detention Officer Advanced Certificate.

• James Joseph Desmond Jr. will receive the Advanced Service Award and Detention Officer Advanced Certificate.

• Charlie Callaway Ashby and Jason Jagger Naves will receive the Advanced Professional Law Enforcement Certificate.
