ROCKWELL — A free lunch will be available for all military veterans and active duty military personnel Wednesday at Lady Bird Farm, located at 1070 Lower Stone Church Road.

The “Salute to Veterans” lunch will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Powles Staton Funeral Home, Lady Bird Farm and Silver Spoon Catering are making the event possible. The funeral home has regularly sponsored free breakfasts and lunches for veterans over the past several years.

As always Powles Staton encourages anyone attending to bring a worn American flag for the funeral home’s “Retire Your Flag with Honor” program. The old flags are used to honor a veteran at cremation, while also providing a proper way to retire the used flag.

The event also will be accepting new, unwrapped toys for Operation Toy Soldier, which provides toys to military families at Christmas.
