Community Day Saturday at GLC
CHINA GROVE — Gospel Lighthouse, 435 Concordia Church Road, will be hosting a Community Day on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be fun and fellowship at this free event, with games, a water slide, corn hole and barbecue with and all the fixings.

TEA at Smith Chapel Apostolic Holiness
CLEVELAND — The Missionaries of Smith Chapel Apostolic Holiness Church, 1735 Mt. Tabor Church Road, will be hosting Ladies’ High time for T.E.A. (Teach, Elevate, Affirm) on Saturday at noon.
Registration is from 11:30 a.m.-noon. Preregistration fee is $10 or $12 at the door. There will be door prizes.

Latrina Winford of LifeChanges Family Guidance and Wellness of Winston-Salem on “Topics Believing Women Seldom Speak Of” (wholeness and wellness: spiritual, physical and mental health);
and Patricia Smyre of Harvest United Fellowship of Spencer, on “Phases and Stages of a Believing Phenomenal Woman” (balancing life as a woman, mother, wife; ministry, managing life without your mother, coping skills for when your shero has transitioned, learning how to be that rainbow in someone else’s cloud all while managing our own silver lining).

WWLTC outreach event
SPENCER — On Saturday at 11 a.m., Whosoever Will Let Them Come Ministries will host an outreach event through “It’s All Good” vending (a ministry of WWLTC) with fish, hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries for sale. This event will help with future events such as Back to School Bash, Women and Men’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Prison Ministry, and others.
The event takes place at the corner of Long St. and Bringle Ferry Road.

Mt. Zion UCC honors scholarship recipients
CHINA GROVE — During the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday Mt. Zion UCC, 1415 S. Main St., will recognize this year’s scholarship recipients.

The annual Men’s Day program at Fairview Heights Missionary Baptist Church, 704 Old Concord Road, is Sunday at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Rev. Perry Dye, pastor of Henderson Grove Baptist Church.
On Saturday June 1, the men will host a prayer breakfast at 9 a.m. with guest speaker Rev. Samuel Washington, pastor of Solid Rock Church of God.

GMBC Gospel Choir celebrates 50 years
The Gospel Choir of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. 719 S. Caldwell St., will be in concert as they celebrate their 50th anniversary on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Current and former choir members and musicians will participate as the choir revives songs from the past. Former musicians participating are George Butler and Ernestine Ingram. The choir is under the direction of Thelma Cuthbertson, minister of music and Milton Griffith, director.

34th annual St. Jude Children’s Hospital Bike-A-Thon
ROCKWELL — On Sunday, Grace Lower Stone Church will host a 5-mile fundraising event to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The Bike-A-Thon starts at the Sports Complex Center, 2410 Lower Stone Church Road at 4 p.m.
Turn in funds collected beginning at 3:30 p.m. to the church office, 70-279-4176.
The ride will be escorted by Rowan County Law Enforcement and First Responder/EMS.
Cash prizes for top three fund raisers; hot dog dinner with all the trimmings around 5 p.m.

Immanuel Lutheran celebrates Graduation Sunday
ROCKWELL — At Immanuel Lutheran, Graduation Sunday will honor all graduates from preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school and college.
High school and college graduates will be specially recognized: Michaela Karriker (Barton College) and Alex Freeman (East Rowan High School).
Rev. Bruce Sheeks, pastor, will present all graduates with special gifts from the congregation. Vickie Goodman, chairman of the Immanuel Scholarship Committee, will present scholarships to those students continuing their pursuit of higher education. Immediately following the service, the Irene Beaver Circle will host a reception in honor of the graduates.
