Letter: Thanks in order for annual fundraiser

The Rowan Medical Society Alliance is an affiliate of the American Medical Association whose members — the spouses of local physicians — serve as the voice of physician families. Our many local health initiatives have affected Rowan County residents during the previous 71 years.

Our major fundraiser for the last 21 years, the “Fashions for a Cause” fashion show, was held on April 10 in the Crystal Lounge of Catawba College, with the help and support of numerous volunteers and local physicians and businesses. All of the proceeds from this show go towards supporting the Community Care Clinic.

We would like to thank our major donors: Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Cloninger Ford-Toyota-Scion, Charlotte Eye Ear Nose and Throat Associates in Salisbury, Mecklenburg Radiology Associates, Salisbury Pediatrics Associates, Bill and Shari Graham and Dr. Jeff and Andrea Ralston. Many additional physicians and businesses in Salisbury and Rowan County offered generous donations and contributed raffle items for the show.

As always, WBTV’s ageless David Whisenant charmed the crowd. Matthew Brown, of First United Methodist Church, brought friends and musical fun to the event.

Joyce Goodwin and Mary Goodman continue to be wonderful leaders and role models as the co-chairs of the project. Along with the other members of the committee, they spent many long hours pulling all of the pieces together for this special show.

Thank you to all who believe their calling is to share their talents, time and treasures with the citizens of our community.

You are what makes Rowan County the caring community that it is.
