Keng Vang

A man wanted for threatening the life of a local judge was arrested Friday in Anson County.

Keng Vang, a 37-year-old man who was added to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office most wanted list on Tuesday, was arrested at an Anson County residence without incident.

Vang allegedly made numerous posts to social media threatening and expressing discontent with law enforcement, the Department of Social Services and the judicial system, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office said he had threatened the life of Chief District Court Judge Charlie Brown.

Vang was transported back to Rowan County, where he was served and issued a $250,000 secured bond for a charge of threats against an executive or legislative officer.

Members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, including the Crime Reduction Unit, Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and Criminal Investigations Division (CID) were assisted by the Anson County Sheriff’s Office, Polkton City Police Department, Rowan County Department of Social Services, SBI Criminal Apprehension Team and the SBI Southern Piedmont District in locating a possible location for Vang.
