Rowan weather: Sunny, but windy; storms Friday

We’re lucky to have another mostly sunny and warm day, with a high of 78. It will be windy, though, with winds at 6-13 mph from the south, gusting to 21 mph.

Clouds will increase tonight, with a 30 percent chance of showers after 4 a.m. The low will be 64, with more south wind, this time at 11-14 mph, gusting to 23 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Friday will be stormy, with a 100 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 5 p.m. Some of the storms will become strong to severe, with damaging winds, frequent lightning and heavy rains. Flash flooding is possible. The high will be 73, with continued gusty winds from the south at 14-17 mph and gusts as high as 28 mph. One to two inches of rain is possible.

Friday night has a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m., then rain between 2 and 5 a.m. Another quarter to half inch is possible. The low will be 49, with partly cloudy skies.

Saturday starts out with a 30 percent chance of rain before 9 a.m., then showers after 11 a.m. It will be partly sunny and 59. The wind will still be around, from the south southwest at 11-13 mph, gusting to 22 mph.

Saturday night has just a 20 percent chance of rain before 9 p.m., the showers until around midnight. It will be mostly cloudy and 42.

Easter Sunday will be mostly sunny and 70, a beautiful day. The low will be 49, with mostly clear skies.

Monday will be sunny and 79, with a partly cloudy night and a low of 56.

Tuesday will be sunny and 81, with a low of 57 and some clouds.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and 78.
