A highway contractor will realign the ramp to Interstate 85 from N.C. 152 and the off ramp to N.C. 152 from northbound I-85 later this week, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.

Starting at 9 p.m. Thursday, the contractor will close the right lane on southbound I-85 near Mile Marker 68. The lane closure is needed for the contractor to stripe the new on-ramp to I-85 southbound from N.C. 152.

From midnight to 6 a.m. Saturday, the contractor will close the N.C. 152 on ramp from northbound I-85 to relocate the ramp opening. The new off-ramp location will be about a half mile closer to N.C. 152.

The detour route is I-85 North to Webb Road at Exit 70. At the top of the ramp, make a left onto Webb Road. Travel 1,000 feet, then take a left onto I-85 southbound back to Exit 68.
