Jeff Long: Our ultimate home

We all have probably visualized our ultimate retirement home at one time or the other. Today, I want to discuss what I consider being the ultimate home beyond retirement. Jesus said while talking to His disciples; John 14:2-3, “In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

First of all Jesus says, “I go to prepare a place for you.” What a contractor! We know in John 10:30 that Jesus says, “I and My Father are one.” So God is the contractor.

I never really thought about how magnificent this is, until I heard David Jeremiah’s thought on the subject: God created all of Heaven and Earth, complete, in six days and rested on the seventh.

Imagine how majestic heaven must be after 2000+ years of construction. What an amazing gift awaiting those who accept.
This eternal home, unlike your retirement home on Earth, comes with no mortgage. It’s absolutely free. All one has to do is believe in the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, ask

God to forgive you for your sins and accept Jesus as your personal Savior. No verse says this better to me than John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

So pray to God and be sure to thank Him for creating both an unimaginable retirement home as well as one that everyone can afford. That my friend, is The Ultimate Retirement Home.

God Bless All,

Jeff Long lives in Salisbury
