Newcomers Club annual game & card party

Submitted

The Salisbury-Rowan Newcomers Club held its seventh annual game & card party on March 26 at the Civic Center. All the proceeds were donated to Rowan Helping Ministries’ Food for

Thought program that helps to feed school age children who are food insecure in Rowan County. This program fills backpacks with food, and the backpacks are sent home with children for weekends and holidays.

This year the Club donated $3,820 to the program; they are now serving 978 children. The donation was due to the support and generosity of our Newcomers members. We also wish to thank local merchants who donated money, and items for our raffles and silent auction.

If you are interested in Food for Thought, contact Kyna Grubb, Rowan Helping Ministries Executive Director,, at 704-637-6838.
