AARP Chapter to discuss pain management

Pain Management is the topic for discussion at the Thursday, April 4 meeting of Rowan Salisbury AARP. The speaker will be Melody Reid, Business Development/Client Coordinator for Comfort Keepers, a home health agency. The meeting starts at 1 p.m. at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, 1120 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

Ms. Reid will discuss different types of pain, how to measure and manage pain, and how healthy eating can improve pain management. She is certified to teach Balance and Chronic Pain Management through Centralina Area Agency on Aging. She has worked in the health care arena for over 30 years, and currently does presentations for senior in Rowan, Davidson, Iredell, and Cabarrus Counties.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Rowan County residents 50 years and older are invited to join the local chapter. Members do not have to be retired to join. The annual dues for the chapter are $4. Monthly chapter meetings provide a forum for members to discuss local, state and national issues to achieve common goals.
