ROCKWELL — Authorities cited a man and woman on drug and weapons charges after a deputy stopped the driver, who had a revoked license.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office issued a citation to Jerry Glenn Pratt, 38, for misdemeanor simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and driving while license revoked.

Rindy Michelle Branham, 36, was cited for misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon.

Both were released from custody.

According to a report, the traffic stop occurred about 9:30 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of Food Lion, 968 Main St. at U.S. 52. A deputy checked the vehicle while it was parked at a BP gas station and discovered that Pratt was driving with a revoked license. The officer stopped the vehicle, which was leaving the store.

Both Pratt and Branham were asked to get out of the vehicle while the deputy checked it.

The deputy found Pratt in possession of two Clonazepam pills wrapped inside a cylinder.

Branham was searched by a female deputy. Metallic knuckles were hidden inside the pocket of her hooded sweatshirt, a report said.
