Letter: School board should pay for demolition
I understand that the county wants to establish a library and an EMS station on the property of the old Cleveland Elementary School.
The school board should give this property to the county. The county wants to go forward for the progress of the Rowan Public Library’s extension into western Rowan County and the EMS station.
The school board should also bear the cost of tearing down the school. The county should bear the cost of preparing the buildings left for the EMS station and the Rowan Public Library extension for western Rowan County.
In my opinion, they should also save the cafeteria so that the senior citizens of Cleveland to continue to prepare and eat their lunch there.
