Kannapolis BP gas station robbed, suspect being sought

KANNAPOLIS — The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who robbed a Kannapolis BP gas station at gunpoint on Saturday.
Authorities said about 6:30 a.m., a black man walked into the West C Street BP store, 2023 W. C St., and said he had a gun. The man demanded the money from the cash register and left the store on foot. He is described as a black man between 30 and 40 years old, 6 feet tall, with medium build and light skin complexion.
Authorities called in a K-9 unit to track the suspect. The dog went as far as nearby Rainbow Drive before the track ended.
