Harris Teeter recalls fried chicken products

Harris Teeter has announced a voluntary recall of all in-store breaded fried chicken products made in its Fresh Foods Market on Feb. 8-21 and before 11:30 a.m. Feb. 22.

Some of the breading contains eggs, which were not listed on the labels. Harris Teeter removed the affected products from its shelves and updated the ingredient label for products produced after 11:30 a.m. Feb. 22.

The breading may have been used in these products:

• Cold double-dipped fried chicken, UPC 0007203695106.

• Hot double-dipped fried chicken, UPC 0007203695981.

• Hot hand-Battered chicken strips, UPC 0020544900000.

• Cold hand-battered chicken strips, UPC 0020546300000.

• Double-dipped chicken special, UPC 0020551500000.

• 48-piece mixed chicken, UPC 0020660300000.

• 72-piece mixed chicken, UPC 0020660400000.

• 96-piece mixed chicken, UPC 0020660500000.

• Any fried chicken product with the UPC 0020660600000.     

Shoppers who purchased these items and have an allergy or sensitivity to eggs should not consume the product. They should be returned to Harris Teeter for a full refund.
