RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will offer a workshop for farmers markets on March 14 in Salisbury.

“North Carolina is home to more than 250 farmers markets,” said Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. “This workshop is a great opportunity for farmers markets of all sizes to learn marketing information and best practices that can be applied to their locations year-round.”

The annual workshop is tailored for market managers, board members and vendors. Topics will include market promotions, licensing and regulations, and customer service. In addition, there will be networking opportunities with other market managers and lunch.

The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Rowan County Fairgrounds at 1560 Julian Road in Salisbury. Cost for the workshop is $20, which covers materials and lunch. Pre-registration is required. The deadline to register is March 7.
