Rowan weather: Cold rain today, more rain tomorrow

The winter weather advisory has been scaled back for Rowan County, now ending at noon today.

We’ll have rain or drizzle before 3 p.m. The high will be 38, with northeast wind at 5-7 mph. The chance of rain is 80 percent, with a tenth to quarter inch of rain possible.

The chance of rain tonight is 70 percent, with thunderstorms possible after 1 a.m. Expect patchy fog and clouds. The low will be 36, with north northeast wind calming in the evening. A tenth to quarter inch more rain is expected, with higher amounts in thunderstorms.

Thursday’s chance of rain is 60 percent, with showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m., then through noon. Showers are expected in the afternoon, along with patchy fog. It will be cloudy and 53 with light west southwest wind. Another tenth to quarter inch of rain is expected, with higher amounts in thunderstorms.

Thursday night has a 50 percent chance of rain, with showers before 1 a.m. and steady rain after that. It will be mostly cloudy and 44, with northeast wind around 5 mph after midnight. Less than a tenth of an inch is expected.

Friday will be cloudy and 49, with a 70 percent chance of rain. Northeast wind will be 5-7 mph. Friday night also has a 70 percent chance of rain and a low of 41.

And Saturday has a 70 percent chance of rain, too, with a high near 50. The chance of rain goes down to 60 percent Saturday night, with rain before 11 p.m., then showers. The low will be 46.

Sunday will be partly sunny and 71, with a 30 percent chance of showers before noon, then rain between noon and 2 p.m. Sunday night will be clear with a low of 38.

Monday will be sunny and 60; the low will be 38.
