As part of the “49 Days of Gratitude” celebration, the Liberty Street Window Gallery at Waterworks Visual Arts Center is now displaying “silly” city buildings, “silly” homes, “silly” farms, “silly” churches and the “silly” railroad that connects them.

The“silly city” was created by North Rowan Middle School students, whose teachers were introduced to the concept at a Waterworks workshop in November 2017.

Students visited the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer, which inspired the drawings that illustrate their story of Rowan County.

The “silly city” will be on display through the end of March.
