In Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday, Western Carolina senior Hunter Gibbons tied the school record for career homers.

Gibbons slammed the 29th homer of her career for the Catamounts against Jacksonville State.

Gibbons hit eight homers for WCU as a freshman, nine as a sophomore, and 11 as a junior. Saturday’s homer was her first this season.

She surpassed 100 career RBIs for the Catamounts as a junior.

The former West Rowan star was the Post’s Rowan County Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015.
