Rowan weather: More damp days ahead

The new year doesn’t look much different than the old one, but we do have a chance of sunshine by the weekend.

Today will be mostly cloudy and 55, with a 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 3 p.m. Winds will be east northeast at 3-7 mph.

Tonight, we have an 80 percent chance of rain, with patchy fog after 9 p.m. The low will be 46. A quarter to half inch of rain is possible.

Thursday will have a 60 percent chance of rain before 7 a.m., followed by showers throughout the day. Expect patchy fog in the morning and cloudy skies, with a high of 56. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Thursday night will have a 50 percent chance of showers, mainly after 10 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 44, with light east northeast wind. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

Friday has an 80 percent chance of showers. The high will be 53, with east southeast wind at 3-6 mph. Friday night will have a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then showers. It will be mostly cloudy and 42.

Finally, Saturday should be mostly sunny, with a high of 58. The low will be 38, with mostly clear skies.

Monday should be mostly sunny and 60. The low will be 42, with mostly cloudy skies.
