Salisbury businessman J. Max Kent has self-published a book whose title says it all — “Tattoos: Uphill in a Downhill Direction (Jobs & Promotions will cost you lots of money in a lifetime).” Kent believes young people need to be warned. “Tattoos reduce your ability to get a job and to be promoted within a company,” he writes. The 365-page book has about 50 pages of text and photos; the rest is a journal. Books are available for $20; write to Max Kent, 909 S. Main St., Suite 101, Salisbury, NC 28144.
