SALISBURY — Salisbury High was placed on a code yellow lockdown Friday as a precaution, in response to an off-campus fight several days ago, said Salisbury Police Chief Jerry Stokes.

He said there was a dispute between students off-campus and some of those students were on campus Friday.

“It came to our attention that the dispute seemed to be escalating; as a precaution the school was placed on lockdown while administrators handled the situation among the students on the campus today,” he said.

There were no weapons seen or threats communicated that police have been able to determine.

The lockdown will remain in place until the end of the school day with added police presence to ensure everyone remains safe.
