Fourth-graders from Faith Elementary traveled to downtown Salisbury this week to see a live production of “A Christmas Story” at Norvell Theater. Here’s what they wrote afterward:

I think that the play, A Christmas Story, we saw was great.  I mean great because the play was funny and it was just like the movie.  I think when Randy couldn’t put his arms down it was very funny.  I think that people should go see A Christmas Story because the play was very funny and interesting.  I also loved it because the older Ralphie was explaining his childhood and if he did not do this we would not know what they are talking about.  This is why I think you should go see the play A Christmas Story at the Norvell Theatre.

This play is about a boy that wanted a special toy for Christmas.  During the show, I enjoyed the performance of the older Ralph who was telling the story of when he was younger.  The actor’s name was Elijah Carpenter.  I liked Adult Ralph because he was telling the story of when he was a little kid and the other actors were acting it out.  It really amazed me. I also liked when Ralphie was talking about Red Ryder and he would pop out of nowhere. The actor who played Red Ryder was Cohen Joyner and he did a great job.

I liked the sets also.  It was very close to the movie and when someone was speaking the lights would shine on them. I enjoyed the show because it was like the movie and it was so cool and I would like to see another show at the Norvell Theatre.

On December 4, we went to see A Christmas Story at the Norvell Theatre.  It is a comedy and the story is about Ralphie, a boy who wants a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas, even though everyone says he will shoot his eye out. He makes a big deal out of it until he gets the gun for Christmas and shoots his eye out.  My favorite character was Ester Jane played by Paisley Rocoo.  The way she got into it was good and I think everyone did a good job.

The play was okay.  I did not like the lack of excitement the cast brought to the stage and the scenes stayed the same the whole time.  I would recommend this play to people who like simple plays and people who like comedy.  Over all it was a good play and I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

On Tuesday, December 4, the 4th graders went to Norvell Theatre in downtown Salisbury to watch the play A Christmas  Story.  This was a great play and my favorite character was Randy.  He was funny.  Ralphie, Randy’s brother, wanted a BB gun for Christmas but everyone said he would shoot his eye out.  Ralphie got what he wanted for Christmas and went outside to play with it and he shot his eye out.  I enjoyed the play very much and I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

I think the show, A Christmas Story, was very entertaining.  The actors made the show funny and they all played their parts well.  Also, it was cool because it was a lot like the movie.  I liked it because the characters were funny but I did not like Adult Ralph sitting in the chair to the side talking every minute of the play.

On December 4, I saw the play A Christmas Story at Norvell Theatre.  This story is about a boy who wanted a Red Ryder BB gun and he had to face a bully.  I enjoyed the perfermance of Ralphie’s Old Man played by Zach Stevenson.  I like how he made it feel so real and fun.  I also liked the performance of Ms. Shields, played by Laura Bullock.  I love how she looked like the teacher she played.  She was cool and funny. In my opinion, it was a good play and I loved how Christmas lights were hung on the set.

This story was about a boy named Ralphie.  He wanted a “Red Ryder BB gun, carbine action, 200 shot, range model air rifle with a compass and this thing which tells time built right in the stock” for Christmas. I liked the Old Man because he was crazy and obsessed with a leg lamp.  He also hates the neighbor’s dog and is always yelling at them.

I also like Ralphie because he shot his eye out when his mom and teacher said he would.  I liked the lights and the Santa Claus set because of the slide and Santa’s chair.  I enjoyed this production and how the people took time to practice and put it on.

A Christmas Story is a comedy play at Norvell Theatre. It takes place in the 1940s in Indiana.  In A Christmas Story, Ralphie wanted a BB gun, carbine action, 200 shot, range model air rifle with a compass and this thing which tells time built right in the stock, but everyone told him he would shoot his eye out so his mom didn’t want to get him one.

My favorite character was the Old Man played by Zach Stevenson because he reminds me of myself.  I really liked this play because it was funny.  The set was good, the action was amazing, and the lighting was good.  The jokes were well timed and the storyline was close to the movie.  There are a lot of details from the movie.

I would recommend this play to people who like silly, funny, and lighthearted plays.

On Tuesday, December 4, I went to the Norvell Theatre to see a play called A Christmas Story.  It is about a boy named Ralphie who really wants a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas but his parents said it was too dangerous.  He thought he was not going to get the gun but was surprised when he got his Red Ryder BB gun.  The story was really good and I enjoyed it.  My favorite character was Randy, played by Bryce Zino.  He is Ralphie’s brother and he is kind and super funny.  I would recommend this play to all.

In the play A Christmas Story, Ralphie was an official “Red Ryder BB gun, carbine action, 200 shot, range model air rifle with a compass and this thing which tells time built right in the stock” but everyone keeps telling him he is going to shoot his eye out.  He tried to be good and responsible enough to have one.

My favorite character was Ralphie’s little brother, Randy played by Bryce Zino. I liked him because he said the funniest lines ever.  He kept saying, “I need to go weewee!” He also acted very funny.

I liked this play because it was funny and the background colors helped me understand what time of day it was.  The actors talked so clear and I could easily know what they had just said.  I recommend this to anyone who likes comedy and the holidays.
