SALISBURY — A man was killed when he was hit by a vehicle while crossing Mooresville Road near Jake Alexander Boulevard late Monday night.

The man, whose name was not available, was struck at 1007 Mooresville Road, near Food Lion and KFC, about 10:45 p.m.

He was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency department.

The crash remains under investigation.
