Salisbury man charged with break-in at Hendrix Barbecue

SPENCER — A Salisbury man was charged this weekend with a Nov. 6 burglary at Hendrix Barbecue where cash was taken.
The Spencer Police Department charged 40-year-old Daniel Ray Corum of the 100 block of Allen Lane with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony possession of burglary tools.
According to arrest warrants, Corum had a yellow claw hammer and used it to take $1,300. The warrant was served Saturday. Corum remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $7,500 secured bond.
Corum has a number of misdemeanor convictions including driving while impaired, larceny after breaking and entering, drunk and disorderly, assault on a female, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, and inhaling fumes for the purpose of intoxication.
He has a first court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
