Letter: Remembering a courageous woman

For the eighth consecutive year, the golfing community of Rowan gathered at Corbin Hills Golf Club to celebrate the life of Debbie Barrier Plummer. The “Golfing for Debbie” tournament was held on Nov. 10. Debbie fought a courageous battle against cancer. Her love for family, friends and God is the driving force for those who played.

Our corporate sponsors — Corbin Hills, R.H. Barringer Distributors, Orrells Food Service and Carolina Golf Trail — underwrite the cost of the tournament and provide team and individual prizes.

We thank everyone who participated in the fundraiser. Thirteen local families have been helped financially over the past eight years.

The winners were everyone who took Debbie’s spirit and love of life home to their family and friends.
