Rowan weather: Showers today and tonight
After yesterday’s torrential rains, today still has a 70 percent chance of showers, but they will be less heavy, with only a tenth to quarter inch of rain expected. Showers will be mainly after 10 a.m. It will be cloudy and 51, with calm wind.
Tonight will have a 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before 2 a.m. It will be cloudy and cold, with a low of 38 and north wind at 6-8 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.
Wednesday will be cloudy and cold, with a high of just 45 and northeast wind at 7-9 mph. We’ll have a 30 percent chance of rain, mostly after 2 p.m. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is expected.
The chance of rain and showers Wednesday night is 90 percent, and it could be heavy at times, with three-quarters to an inch of rain expected. Winds will be up, too, from the northeast at 9-13 mph, with guests up to 20 mph. The super saturated ground and winds may lead to trees falling. Rain is likely before midnight, then showers through 4 a.m., then more rain. With a low of 34, it’s possible some freezing rain will develop.
Thursday will have a 90 percent chance of rain before 8 a.m., then showers between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., followed by more rain. The high will be 40, with northeast wind at 7-11 mph and gusts around 18 mph. The chance of rain drops to 30 percent Thursday night, mostly before 3 a.m. Some snow may mix with the rain Thursday night. It will be mostly cloudy and around 34 again.
Friday will be mostly sunny and 53, with another cold night and a low of 33.
Saturday will be sunny and 56, with mostly clear skies and a low of 34.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and 55. The low will be 34, with partly cloudy skies.
Monday, too, will be mostly sunny and 52.
