Rowan weather: Chilly, wet

A cool and rainy day will be followed by a chilly, frosty weekend.

We have an 80 percent chance of showers today, with patchy fog around 1 p.m. East northeast wind of 5-7 mph will calm during the day. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

Tonight’s chance of rain will be 40 percent, with showers before 8 p.m., then rain between 8 and midnight. It will be cloudy and cold, with a low of 37. Skies will clear gradually toward daybreak. Winds will be north northwest at 5-7 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Saturday will be sunny, but chilly, with a high near 50 and north northwest wind at 7-11 mph, gusting to 18 mph. Saturday night will be clear and cold, with a low of 26. North wind will be at 3-6 mph.

There is a freeze watch from 9 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday.

Veterans Day will be sunny and 49, with calm wind. Sunday night will be mostly cloudy and 35.

Monday has a 60 percent chance of rain between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., then showers are likely after 2. It will be mostly cloudy and 49. Showers continue Monday night, with an 80 percent chance of rain. The low will be 41.

Tuesday will also have an 80 percent chance of showers, mainly before 2 p.m. The high will be 54. The chance of showers drops to 30 percent Tuesday night, mostly before 8 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 32.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and cold, with a high of 45. Wednesday night will be mostly clear, with a low of 28.
