It was Oct. 31 and it was our grandson Nathan’s first Halloween trunk or treat. We took Nathan to the Amvets in Rockwell and Grace Academy later that evening. The purpose in this letter is to point out how disgusting and nasty some people there were. Trash and watermelon rinds littered the ground and we had to step over and around this mess.

What gives people the right to dispose of their litter and garbage in this way, when there were garbage cans available to dispose of their trash? I can only wonder if they treat their own property this way.

My comment to these people — and you know who you are — is to be an adult and be more responsible. Respect other people’s property; it will make living a lot easier.
