The Humane Society of Rowan County will hold its fall spaghetti fundraiser on Friday at the Rhyne Building of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, 817 S. Main St.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner, from 5-8 p.m. Dine-in and carry-out are available.

The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12.

Delivery of five or more meals to a workplace is available with no additional charge. Delivery orders must be faxed to 704-633-5832 or called in to 704-636-5700 by 10 a.m. Friday.

Volunteers will be available to discuss the mission and services of the Humane Society and to accept donations of pet food and cat litter for the organization’s Pet Food Bank, a service to pet guardians in need of assistance feeding their animals.

On Nov. 10, local photographer Bill Washington and Santa’s helper Barney Barnhardt will be at Main Stream Pets, 5675 S. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the annual Pet Portraits With Santa. No appointment is necessary.

These are the first of several activities to be held in celebration of the organization’s 45th anniversary. It was founded in October 1973 and chartered by the state in March 1974 as a nonprofit volunteer animal welfare organization. The Humane Society does not receive funding from any government agency or other animal welfare organizations such as national humane societies.
