Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 206th church anniversary on Sunday. The congregation was organized in 1812. The 11 a.m. speaker is Rev. Perry J. Dye, pastor. Rev. William H. Clayton II, pastor of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson, is guest speaker. Rev. Clayton holds degrees from Shaw University Divinity School, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Virginia Union School of Theology, Richmond.
Dr. Avery is currently completing his tenure as the 32nd president of the General Baptist State Convention of N.C.
Music will be rendered by the combined Sanctified Sisters & Men of Majesty Choirs. Dinner will be served after the service.
