4-H plant and wreath sale going on now

By Laura Allen

Rowan County 4-H Agent

Fall has finally arrived, which means that the Rowan County 4-H Fall Plant Sale and Wreath Sale are both under way.

This year, we have bunch grapes, blueberries, blackberries, muscadines and figs for sale. The plants are sold in 1-gallon containers and cost $10 each. These plants are well adapted to the Piedmont growing conditions and will be perfect for your yard or farm. We have several varieties available for purchase.

All plant orders are due by Thursday, Nov. 1. Plant pick up is Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Rowan County Cooperative Extension Center.

The wreath sale is always a local favorite. The wreaths are made of North Carolina grown fraser fir or boxwood (or a mixture of both) and are absolutely beautiful. We also have white pine garland for sale, along with some other items.

This week I was talking to some folks who have ordered wreaths and garland in the past. They kept talking about how fresh and beautiful the products were and how they lasted a long time. If you are looking for a quality product for holiday decorating, purchase from our 4-H Wreath Sale. You will not be disappointed.

All wreath orders are due by Wednesday, Nov. 14. Wreath pick up is Thursday, Nov. 29, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Rowan County Cooperative Extension Center.

To view the wreath sale product list, please visit: https://rowan.ces.ncsu.edu/2018/10/rowan-county-4-h-wreath-sale/. You must call in your orders at 704-216-8970. Or, if you know a Rowan County 4-H member, you can order directly from them.

You are always welcome to call or come by the Extension office to look at the plant and wreath sale flyers and to order in person. Payment of cash or check will be accepted at pick up. All proceeds benefit the Rowan County 4-H Program.

Rowan County Cooperative Extension is located at 2727-A Old Concord Road Salisbury, NC 28146.
