Local woman on sheriff’s most-wanted list arrested in Connecticut

A Rowan County woman who was placed on the Sheriff’s Office most-wanted list was arrested Monday in Connecticut, authorities said Wednesday.

Shanna Shamania Jones, 37, was put on the most-wanted list for failure to notify authorities of an address change. She is a registered sex offender.

Jones, also known as Shanna Sharmane Jones and Shawna Jones, will be extradited to Rowan County.

She was convicted in 1998 in Montour, Pennsylvania, of indecent assault with a victim younger than 13. According to the sex-offender registry, Jones was 18 at the time of the offense.
