Letter: Access to health care is top issue

Published 12:00 am Sunday, October 14, 2018

Early voting begins this week. Most of us have issues which are important when we choose how we vote. Mine is health care.

I firmly believe that there is no reason whatsoever that in this self proclaimed great nation that anyone should be denied health care because of ability to pay, and no one should ever suffer financial hardship due to sickness. I believe that no one should be discriminated against because of pre-existing conditions.

I understand that someone can buy nicer clothes or drive a nicer car, if you can afford, but this is health. It is people’s lives. Everyone deserves top quality.

And just because a nation cares about its sick and poor, that doesn’t mean there is a socialist hiding behind every rock.

Other people may have other issues most important, but this is mine.
