Waterworks Visual Arts Center welcomes the public to the Faces Portrait Exhibition, a ministry of care for residents of Trinity Living Center’s adult day program.
Each year, Trinity Living Center makes a “call for portrait artists” to volunteer their talents to capture the essence of the elderly adults of their community. Artists are provided with participant biographies to provide a sense of connection between them and their chosen subjects. Portraits are created in the artist’s chosen medium and style.
“Our participants’ faces are etched with years of working, loving and living.” It is hoped that the artists will be as enriched by their experience as their subjects are by enriched by being models.
Showing through Nov. 3 in the Del Haize Conference Room Gallery, visitors can view the portraits during regular gallery hours weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The opening reception will be on Thursday, Oct. 18, 4-5:30 p.m. Following the exhibition, the portraits will be presented to family members to keep and cherish.
