Word of Life Men’s Conference
The Mighty Men of Valor Fellowship of Word of Life Family Worship Center, 726 East Liberty St., hosts a Men’s Conference Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 6-7 on the theme of “Men of God Walking In Authority.”
Saturday at 8:20 a.m. is a continental breakfast; session one begins at 9 a.m. with speaker Toney Snipes, associate minister at Word of Life. Session two is at 10:30 a.m. with Bishop Elvin Mickens, pastor of Mt. Calvary Holy Church Family Worship Center in Concord. Bishop Mickens will also be the speaker for the Men’s Day Service at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

CLEVELAND — Echoes for Christ will present a special musical program on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Third Creek Presbyterian Church, 2055 Third Creek Church Road.

9th annual Old Fashioned Hymn Sing
CONCORD — The 50-voice Piedmont Choral Society presents its 9th annual Old Fashioned Hymn Sing on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Forest Hill UMC, 265 Union St. North. Joseph Judge, associate professor of choral music at Pfeiffer University is director and Dr. Don Simmons, organist/music director at Kimball Lutheran in Kannapolis and adjunct keyboard instructor at Pfeiffer University is accompanist.
This free program features older, traditional beloved hymns, hymn stories, anthems by the choir and lots of favorite hymns chosen by the audience.

Rev. Larry Whitley retired from the NC State Highway Patrol after 30 years of service and Rev. Chris Whitley retired from the NC Department of Corrections after 24-four years of service.

Purpose Driven Life classes
Purpose Driven Life classes hosted by In My Father’s House and led by the Rev. Roosevelt Jenkins, will be conducted from 10-11 a.m. on the first and second Thursday of each month, at Brookdale Assisted Living, 2201 Statesville Blvd. The next study date is Oct. 11.

Homecoming at Immanuel Presbyterian
CHINA GROVE—On Sunday, Oct. 14, homecoming will be celebrated at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 365 Brown Road, at the 11 a.m. service with the Rev. Felicia Stewart Hoyle bringing the message.
Rev. Hoyle is the moderator of the Salem Presbytery and co-moderator of the Central Neighborhood Commission on Ministry. Her husband, Rev. Dr. Bill Hoyle , is pastor of Clemmons Presbyterian church where Felicia also served for 15 years.
Dr. Bill Dailey and Eleanor Dailey will be leading special opening music involving the congregation, as well as presenting an anthem and offertory music.
There will be a covered-dish luncheon immediately following the service.
