Concord man charged with breaking into mother’s home

SALISBURY — A Concord man was charged Sunday with breaking into his mother’s Salisbury home while she attended church.

Salisbury Police officials say he stole a safe that contained money.

Johnny Neal Paxton, 54, of Wyoming Avenue, Concord, was charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny.

Paxton went into the home in the 100 block of Candlewick Drive through a bedroom window, according to police.

He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. He was convicted in 2009 of felony common law robbery.
