Rowan weather: Storms likely tonight

Some people in Rowan experienced severe storms last night and we’ll have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today, mostly after 3 p.m. Be prepared for frequent lightning, gusty winds and possibly, small hail.

Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny and 89, with winds from the south southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, except higher amounts in thunderstorms,

Tonight will have a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight and then again after 5 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 69, with patchy fog forming around 4 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, except in thunderstorms.

Saturday will start with patchy fog, then become partly sunny and 87. There is a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly after 8 a.m. Again, less than a tenth of an inch of rain is likely.

Saturday night’s chance of rain and storms is 20 percent, mostly before 11 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 70, with calm wind.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 87, with a 20 percent chance of showers and storms after 1 p.m. Wind will be light and variable. Sunday night will be partly cloudy and 69.
