Suspicious behavior at car dealership leads to drug arrests

SALISBURY — Police say three people were charged Tuesday with crystal meth possession after they were found circling the parking lot at a local car dealership. Officials said one of the suspects overdosed and was taken to the hospital.

Corey Austin Cline, 30, of the 400 block of Goodwin Road, was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance schedule II, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor probation violation.

He remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.

David Cardell Hill, 31, of the 100 block of Lyerly Drive, was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture a controlled substance schedule I and felony possession of a controlled substance schedule I.

He remains in the Rowan County jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

Donna Jean Honeycutt, 45, of the 400 block of Goodwin Road, was charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance schedule II and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

She has since been released from the county jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

Police received a call from security at Team Chevrolet that reported a suspicious vehicle riding around the parking lot. There were people in the vehicle, one of whom was “acting weird,” a report said.

Police say one suspect, David Hill, in the vehicle, had overdosed. He was taken to the hospital. Police officials said they confiscated 26.4 grams of crystal meth, plastic bags, a digital scale and syringes.
