SALISBURY — A local woman is accused of stabbing her former girlfriend multiple times after the woman brought a new girlfriend to their former apartment.

Police charged Lottie Mae Cunningham, 37, with assault with a deadly weapon.

Police said Lashelle Marqueta Miller brought a new girlfriend to the apartment and Cunningham became angered Saturday at Brookview Apartments.

Cunningham grabbed a serrated kitchen knife and stabbed Miller in the face, neck, shoulder and chest, according to a police report.

When officers tried to arrest Cunningham, she was holding a small bag of marijuana in her clenched fist, the report said. They also found a silver smoking device on her.

Police said Cunningham tried to steal Miller’s personal information, including her ID.

Cunningham was released from the Rowan County Detention Center.
