Rowan weather: Better chances of rain this week

This week’s temperatures will be closer to the average and not quite as hot. We’ll also have a slightly better chance of rain.

Today will be mostly cloudy and 88, with southwest wind at 3-8 mph. We’ll have a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Tonight will also have a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be mostly cloudy and 72. Again, less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected. Patchy fog will form after 5 a.m.

Tuesday will have a 60 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly after 2 p.m. We’ll start out with patchy fog before 8 a.m. It will be partly sunny and 90, with west southwest wind at 6-9 mph. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

The same chance of rain continues Tuesday night, mainly before 3 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 70, with west wind at 3-5 mph. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and 89, with north wind at 5-7 mph. There’s a 20 percent chance of showers before 8 a.m., then again after 9. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy and 66.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and 88, with a low of 68 under partly cloudy skies.

Friday will be partly sunny and 86, with a 30 percent chance of showers. The same chance of showers is possible Friday night, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 69.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy and 88, with a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The chance of storms and showers goes down to 50 percent Saturday night, which will be mostly cloudy and 69.

Sunday will also have a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It will be partly sunny and 87.
