Rowan weather: Cooler weekend ahead

One more hot and muggy day, and then we get a brief break.

Today will be partly sunny and 88 with southwest wind around 5 mph. We have a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly after 4 p.m. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

Tonight we’ll have a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 a.m. It will be cloudy and 68, with north northeast wind at 7 mph. A quarter to half inch of rain is possible. Expect patchy fog after 4 a.m.

Saturday will start with a 30 percent chance of showers and patchy fog. Then it will be mostly cloudy and 78. Winds will be from the northeast at 10-13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected. There will be a 20 percent chance of showers before midnight, then it will be mostly cloudy and 83, with east northeast wind at 5-7 mph.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 83, with northeast wind at 7-9 mph. The low will be 63.

Monday will be sunny and 86, with a low of 65.

Tuesday will be sunny and 91. The low will be 69.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny snd 93, with a low of 71.

Then the heat really roars back Thursday, with a high of 96.
